Sofia Vergara wasn’t able to dazzle the red carpet — or stage — of Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, as planned, due to a medical emergency that forced her into the ER.

The “Modern Family” star revealed on social media that she was forced to skip out on the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards at the last-minute.

Vergara explained to her followers that while she “didn’t make it to the Emmys,” she “made it to the ER” due to the “craziest eye (allergy) right before getting in the car.”

She also shared pictures of herself with a swollen eye.

In the post’s video, the 53-year-old beauty was shown laying in a hospital bed, while she was seen rinsing out her eye in another clip.

According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, eye allergies — also known as allergic conjunctivitis — can be caused by environmental triggers like dust or mold, food, eye drops, cosmetics, perfume, pet dander, insect bites or stings, pollen or smoke. It can be treated with eye drops, antihistamines, steroids or allergy shots.

Vergara, 53, was not nominated during this year’s ceremony but was tapped to present the Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie award.

“The Hunting Wives” actresses Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman stepped in for her to present “Adolescence” star Stephen Graham with the honor.

Hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, the ceremony took place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
